The Stylist Den: #Pradashpere @Harrods. The Quirky @Prada World in a Room.

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Prada and as soon as I knew that the Pradasphere was going to open at Harrods, I just had to go! And I did two days ago. The opportunity to have the whole world of Prada dispalyed in a room can't be missed and above all the chance to see the brand's past and present clothing and accessories not only together but really close ( you'll see from the hundreds of pics that I took that I got really, really, close).

The exhibition is organised in a natural museum like layout with 6 windows displays of mannequins in the centre, that showcase the 6 different themes/obsession that get reworked season after season and smaller dispalys on the side that show the bags and shoes themes, the development of the brand from its origins in 1913 to now and, at the other far end of the room, a glass table display with the different embroydery and embellishments tecniques.

The 6 main themes in which the manequins are divided are: Animality, Excessivity, Modernity, Figuration, Continentalism and Femasculinity. These concepts are quite straightforward to understand and they translate onto the garments in a powerful and explosive way - qualities that make the Prada esthetic so appreciated and breathtaking to look at. No need to say that not only I wanted to jump and scream of joy as soon as I stepped in the Pradasphere room but I also spent more than two hours examining meticolously every pice ;-)

Non e' ormai piu' un segreto che sono un fan sfegatato di Prada e non appena ho saputo che Pradashpere avrebbe aperto i battenti da Harrods, ho realizzato che ci dovevo andare! E l'ho fatto due giorni fa. Non potevo farmi sfuggire l'occasione di vedere l'intero mondo Prada riunito in una sala e sopratutto poter vedere da vicino, ma molto vicino (vedrete dalle decine di foto che ho scrutato ogni minimo particolare) abiti ed accessori passati e presenti.

la mostra e' organizzata come in un museo di storia naturale con 6 vetrine di manichini al centro della sala, che spiegano i 6 temi/ossessione che vengono rielaborati di stagione in stagione e delle vetrinette ai lati con scarpe e borse divise per temi, la cronologia dello sviluppo del brand dalle origini nel 1913 ad oggi e, in fondo alla sala due tavoli che mostrano le diverse tecniche di ricamo.

I 6 temi in cui i manichini sono divisi sono: Animalita', Eccessivita', modernita', Figurazione, Continentalismo e Femascolinita'. Questi concetti sono abbastanza semplici da capire ma si concretizzano sugli abiti in maniera potente ed esplosiva - qualita' che rendono l'estetica di Prada mozzafiato ed apprezzatissima. non c'e' bisogno che vi dica che avrei voluto saltare e urlare dalla gioia non appena sono entrato nella sala Pradasphere e ci ho passato piu' di due ore ad esaminare scrupolosamente ogni pezzo :-)
