L'ultima volta che ho postato per la rubrica #NDM (Notizie D'oltre Manica) si parlava di Brooklin Beckham e del suo primo shooting. Restiamo in famiglia per lo shooting e la copertina di Victoria per Vogue UK di agosto. Sapete come quasi regolarmente sia deluso dal contenuto di Vogue UK che dagli editoriali, ma continuo a sfogliarlo ( ma non compralo; mi hanno regalato un abbonamento per Natale) per rimanere comunque aggiornato.
Questa volta invece, complice la copertina e un bellissimo editoriale scattato da Demarchelier, ho aspettato con ansia che arrivasse la copia a casa. Infatti ormai da tempo ammiro Victoria per il suo attento e meticoloso cammino fatto come designer e per l'intelligenza, la cura e l'ironia con cui sta costruendo e facendo crescere il brand.
L'editoriale gioca con gli stereotipi del mondo vittoriano di Virginia Woolf ed il gioco di parole con il suo nome, creando un personaggio shabby chic che lavora in giardino con abiti di Elie Saab, Lanvin e Ferragamo abbinati a stivali in pelle e Welligton boots in gomma. Il tempismo e' anche perfetto in quanto tra un mese Victoria festeggera' 40 anni ed il 15 anniversario di matrimonio con David.
P.S. Le foto dell'editoriale le ho scattate dal giornale, in quanto il numero di agosto sara' nelle edicole solo tra 2 giorni ed ancora non sono state diffuse online, tranne la copertina e uno scatto.

Last time that I blogged for the column #NDM (News Beyond The English Channel) it was about Brooklin Beckham and his first fashion shoot. let's stay in the family for the shootinf and cover of Victoria for the August issue of Vogue UK. You know how regularly I'm disappointed with Vogue Uk content and editorials, but I keep browsing it ( not to buy it as I got a subscription for Christmas) in order to be updated.
This time instead, thanks to the cover and the fantastic shooting by Demarchelier, I was really looking forward to receiving the issue at home. I've been admiring Victoria for a long time now for her careful and thoughtful career as a fashion designer and for the cleverness, the attention and the irony she uses to build and grow her brand.
The editorial plays with the Victorian stereotypes of Virginia Woolf's period and the pun with her name, creating a shabby-chic character that works in her garden mixing gowns by Elie Saab, Lanvin, Ferragamo and leather and rubber Wellington boot. The timing of the shoot is perfect too as Victoria will be celebrating her 40th birthday in a month and the 15th anniversary of her marriage to David too.
P.S. The pictures of the editorial had to be taken as pictures from the magazine as the August issue will be in the newstands in two days and there aren't pictures available online of the whole spread, apart from one shot and the cover.
